A man has been taken to hospital suffering from burns and the effects of smoke after being rescued from his blazing flat in Dover.
Fire crews were called to the three-storey property at Beaufoy Terrace just after 11pm on Thursday when a neighbour, alerted by a smoke detector, saw smoke coming from under the door.
Firefighters using breathing apparatus broke into the top-floor flat and found the bedroom alight and a 34-year-old man unconscious in bed.
He was carried outside and handed over to paramedics who took him to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
