A third Kent branch of home textiles chain Rosebys has closed - with a total of 15 staff now made redundant in the county by the retailer.

Rosebys, which sells soft furnishings, curtains and bed linen, went into administration in September, blaming "difficult trading conditions".

Administrators KPMG LLP said the Dover branch of the chain has now closed - the third in the county to cease trading - with five redundancies.

It follows the closures earlier in October of the Maidstone branch, with six redundancies, and of the Margate branch, with four redundancies.

Other Kent branches are still operating at present amid hopes of a last-minute rescue package.

Howard Smith, KPMG's restructuring partner, said a total of 97 outlets had now closed nationwide, but attempts were still being made to sell remaining branches as part of a going concern.

He said: "It is disappointing but unavoidable to be continuing to close stores, resulting in redundancies.

"However, discussions regarding a going concern sale are proceeding satisfactorily and the majority of outlets, 183, are still trading."
