A three vehicle smash on a main route into Deal caused traffic delays for more than an hour on Thursday.

It happened at about 5.50pm and all emergency services were called to the A258 between Ringwould and St Margaret's by 6.10pm.

Firefighters came along to make the scene safe and to help with getting a woman out of her car.

A Kent Fire & Rescue spokesman said: "I think somebody slowed down, it was a shunt rather than a road traffic collision.

"A woman suffered some neck injuries.

"We just stayed there for scene safety, we were gone by 6.50pm."

The police confirmed there were no reports of any serious injuries and that the route was cleared by 7pm.
