An extra high-speed train will begin its service in Dover, Deal and Sandwich tomorrow morning.

It has been timetabled to help east Kent commuters get into London on time for work.

This new loop has been introduced following the deep cracks that have formed in the sea wall between Dover and Folkestone.

The damaged track, which is closer to Dover, halted trains on Christmas Eve.

Southeastern today released more pictures of work taking place to repair the tracks and the sea wall. It said it was unable to give any indication on when the line might re-open.

The temporary train service will attach to another train in Ramsgate will leave Dover Priory at 6.45am and call at Martin Mill, Walmer, Deal and Sandwich before travelling via Ashford and onto St Pancras for 8.42am.

An evening service will leave St Pancras International at 5.50pm and go via Ashford - arriving at Dover Priory at 7.43pm.

It will call at Sandwich, Deal, Walmer and Martin Mill after detaching from a Margate service in Ramsgate.

Shuttle buses have been used as a replacement to get people from Dover Priory to Folkestone West where the high-speed train has continued from.

Hundreds of angry commuters gathered in The Bohemian in Deal on Friday night to hear from rail bosses about future plans for the line.
