A police spokesman said: "A road closure was enforced to ensure public safety and the scene was clear by around 8.45pm."

While emergency services dealt with the crash Dover-bound traffic was diverted onto Station Road.

Drivers then had to go through St Margaret's-at-Cliffe, and Upper Road, which passes the White Cliffs, to get to Dover.

The ambulance service has been approached for more information.
