Police and fire engines called to Roosevelt Road, Dover following fire at flat

The cause of a fire at a flat, which left one man needing medical attention, is being investigated.

Firefighters were called to tackle the blaze in Roosevelt Road, Dover, just after 4pm yesterday.

Four fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the flames.

One person was passed into the care of paramedics.

A picture shows fire and ambulance vehicles at the scene, which was cordoned off by police.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers attended the scene along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and some residents were evacuated while the blaze was extinguished.

“A man was taken to hospital by paramedics for medical attention and an investigation is underway into the circumstances.”
