Police spent hours searching a river as part of a murder investigation.
At least three officers from the marine unit were scouring a stretch of the River Dour near Dover after a 66-year-old man was found dead at a property in Anstee Road.
Pictures show officers using specialist equipment to look below the surface although it is not clear what they were looking for.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the force said: “It was a chilly few hours in the water for the Kent Police Search and Marine Unit yesterday morning.
“Officers spent time searching a section of the River Dour to assist in an ongoing major crime investigation.”
Derek O’Hare was found with multiple injuries at a property in Anstee Road just after 10pm on Monday, December 11, and was declared dead at the scene.
The road was cordoned off for several days following, as detectives from Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched an investigation, treating the death as suspicious.
Ajay Porter, from Oswald Road, Dover was later charged with murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He is next due at Canterbury Crown Court on March 4, where he is expected to enter pleas.
A 35-year-old man who was also arrested by investigators was released without charge.
