He has a target figure of 2,136 miles, equivalent to nearly three treks between Dover and John O'Groats.

Mr Hart, 38, is covering at least 5km (3.1 miles) every single day during 2019 but often achieves more by joining marathons.

He is doing this for Dover RNLI, Dover Community First Responders and Breast Cancer Now.

By today he raised £2,059, 56% of his £3,650 target.

He had said on his JustGiving Page: "I've decided to try and challenge myself.

"I felt that if I was going to attempt this, being from Dover and having friends in both camps, I would like to help our volunteer-based emergency services.

" I'll also be making a donation to BCN who I've supported in the past and will continue to do so."

Mr Hart, a member of the Dover Roadrunners Club, and explained that the shorter distances are during local events.

He began his challenge on his birthday on New Years Day.

During this year he took on the 26-mile London and Brighton Marathons in April.
