Aycliffe Community Primary School in Dover evacuated after gas leak

Pupils have been evacuated from a primary school following a gas leak.

Aycliffe Community School in Dover notified parents about the incident at 9.50am today.

Jackie Cox, headteacher of the St David’s Avenue school, urged parents to collect their children immediately.

In an email today thanking people for their support, she wrote: “We have found a small gas leak in the kitchen of the school, we already have the gas board investigating it.

“However, for the safety of the pupils, we ask that you collect them from school immediately.”

The message included details of where children, who have all been evacuated, could be collected.
