A six-month digital arts festival has begun.

The Dover Arts Development event can be seen online until the end of 2021.

It is to promote the town as a place for culture.

A DAD spokesman said: "It will provide opportunities for the growing number of artists living and working in Dover, as well as opportunities for community participation."

The festival will feature sound, music, writing, photography and video work.

This includes a major new commission from Anna Phoebe and Richard Bundy, both internationally renowned musicians based in the Dover district.

Artist and writer Simon Bill, who has recently come to live in Dover, will be the festival writer in residence, with a regular blog.

Meanwhile Martin Bradley, who has lived in the town since 1985, will provide a photo diary.

There will also be a DAD RADIO service, funded by Dover Big Local and Kent County Council and in partnership with Dover Community Radio.

It is presented by Dover-born artists Louisa Love with Louise Webb and is to provide a platform for sound art, music, spoken word and local conversation connected to the town and its community.

The DAD project is funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
