Lifeboat crews rescued four teenagers stranded at sea after a concerned parent raised the alarm.
The Langdon coastguard were called by police at about 9.30pm last night amid reports the group of teenagers hadn't returned home.
They had been cut off by the tide between St Margaret's and Kingsdown.
The rescue team dealt with the rescue and sent out the Walmer lifeboat and Walmer inshore lifeboat.
The group were found and taken back to Walmer lifeboat station, and no-one was injured.
Coastguard spokesman Andy Nye said: “They were on the bottom of the cliff, they’d climbed up so they were out of the water.
“They were all okay, not cold or wet.
“It looked like they had just been walking and got cut off by the tide.
“They were transported back to the lifeboat station in Walmer, arriving at 10pm.”
Mr Nye added: “If anybody is going to go down to the bottom of the cliffs, from Kingsdown Riffle Range all the way to Folkestone, I would suggest they get in touch with the coastguard beforehand to check the tide times.
“Also, be safe, because a lot of the cliff is starting to crumble, even though it’s summer."
