Two year-old boy has been hit by a car in Dover

A two-year-old boy is in hospital with head injuries after being hit by a car in Dover.

Kent Air Ambulance, SECAmb, and police were called at 3.10pm on Friday to Barton Road and paramedics tended to the boy.

He was taken to Ashford's William Harvey hospital by road ambulance.

Stagecoach South East tweeted: Dover: "Police have closed off Barton Road into Pencester Road due to an accident. All services from now on are running late."

Bernard Scott, owner of Cherry Tree Plumbing, saw the air ambulance land at Barton field near the junior school.

He said: "It's always happening along there. It's the speed they go at."
