A WOMAN killed when her car was in a head-on collision with a tanker in Dover has been identified.

She was 50-year-old Jessie Walton who lived in the town. She died instantly in the accident in Whitfield Hill which happened at about 1.35pm last Wednesday. An inquest will be held into her death.

A man and a woman travelling in the back of the car, a green Toyota Previa people carrier, had to be cut free from the vehicle and were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with minor chest injuries.

The driver of the tanker and the driver of a third car involved in the collision suffered from shock.
