It was hardly a welcome start for any political party conference.
Two huge pieces of graffiti were daubed on either side of the Dover and Deal Constituency Labour Party headquarters and found the day the national conference began.
'Corbyn resign' was smeared in red letters on either side of the building at the corner of Coombe Valley Road and Magdala Road.
The overnight vandalism was discovered on Saturday morning but wiped off within a couple of hours.
Dominic Howden, local party vice-chairman, said: "We are extremely disappointed in this.
"Our concern that if there is a general election soon this sort of thing might happen again.
"Who did this is anybody's guess but I don't think it was someone supporting the far right as it would have been nastier."
The annual conference, this year in Brighton, continued with Jeremy Corbyn due to make his leader's speech on Tuesday (Sep 24).
The conference is particularly crucial for the party this year as members will be deciding on a strategy for Brexit, with Mr Corbyn coming under increased pressure to reveal his own stance.
A police spokesman said; "Kent Police are investigating a report of criminal damage caused to a property in Coombe Valley Road, Dover, between 5pm on Friday, September 20, and 10am the following day."
Anyone with information on this should call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting the reference number 46/181936/19.
