AN APPEAL has been renewed for information about a man whose remains were found six years ago.
Missing People is the charity for missing and unidentified people which works with the police, coroners, hospitals and social services to resolve cases of unidentified people, alive or dead.
The man’s skeletal remains were found at Dover's Eastern Docks on October 25, 2001.
He was believed to have been an adult, aged anywhere between 20 and 80 years old, about six feet tall, of slim build with possibly black hair. He had a full set of teeth and wore glasses.
When he was discovered the man was wearing blue and white, size 11, Nike trainers, white socks and a leather Levi belt with a white metal buckle.
Other possessions found on the man included an Aiwa personnel CD player, a Casio watch, a pair of glasses and £260 in Bank of Scotland notes.
Missing people records have been checked for clues as to a possible identity, but as yet no conclusive match has been made.
“In most cases an unidentified person is also a missing person, so it is likely that this man will have family and friends out there who do not know their fate,” said Teri Blythe, head of Missing People’s identification department.
“We therefore hope that this appeal will bring some vital clues that will lead us to identify this body and put an end to someone’s distress.”
