Police are trying to trace the drivers of two cars who were flagged down by the victim of a robbery early on Saturday morning.
The robbery took place between 11.45pm on Friday and 12.40am on Saturday in the gateway of Great Napchester Farm, Napchester Road, Whitfield. Two men were assaulted in their car, a black Ford Focus, by two male assailants who took cash from them.
During the robbery two cars were seen to drive along Napchester Road passed the gateway.
One of the victims attempted to wave down the first car, which drove straight past.
The second vehicle, believed to be an old model white Nissan Micra driven by a young white man, did stop by the gateway. The driver spoke to a person at the scene and then drove away.
One of the victims managed to run away across fields and stop another vehicle in Archers Court Road. This vehicle was also driven by a man who agreed to take him into Dover via Guston and Old Charlton Road, where he was dropped off.
Detective Inspector Steve Bridges said: "I do not believe that this is a random attack, as the suspects appear to have been waiting for the victims. Thankfully, the victims were not seriously injured."
"I would especially like to speak to anyone driving in Napchester Road, Whitfield around midnight on Friday or who saw anything suspicious in the area.
"We are also appealing for the driver of the white Nissan Micra to come forward and we would also like to speak to the person who gave the victim a lift to Dover from Whitfield."
