Police are appealing for information about four lurcher dogs which, they say, may be dangerously out of control in the Whitfield area,

The appeal follows an incident on Tuesday March 31 at Lenacre Lane, when a 61-year-old woman who was out walking her small Bichon Frise dog.

The dog was attacked by a lurcher and when the woman tried to rescue it, the lurcher bit her on the thumb.

The lurchers were with a man, a woman and a young girl.
