FIRE destroyed the bedroom of a home in Heathfield Avenue in Dover on Saturday night.
Thirty firefighters from across the district tackled the blaze at the terraced house, which started just after 8pm.
A woman in the house escaped without injury and a fire brigade spokesman said there were smoke alarms in the building that were working.
The rest of the house was badly smoke damaged along with the two neighbouring properties.
A Red Cross unit was called in from Thanet to provide help for the victim of the blaze.
