A BODY has been recovered from below the cliffs at St Margaret's near Dover this afternoon.

Police were called to the south side of St Margaret's Bay after a man out for a walk found the body which was said to be partially decomposed.

Dover Lifeboat was called out to take the coroner's officer to the scene and to help recover the body, and bring the police officer back to Dover.

The coroner has been informed, and investigations are continuing to try to identify the body.
