Police searching for a woman who had been missing for more than a week have found a body.

Officers looking for 24-year-old Callie Lewis said a woman was pronounced dead at the scene after being found by the force in Cumbria.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, Ms Lewis' family have been informed.

She was last seen on Wednesday, August 22 but spoke to a friend on the phone in the early hours of Tuesday, August 28.

Police put out an appeal to find her last Thursday and then said they believed the 5ft-tall woman may be outside Kent and in the area of Lake Windermere in the Lake District.
