A 14 year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault at the Elms School in Dover.
A woman received a cut to her arm which required hospital treatment on Tuesday, March 5.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers were called at 4.49pm to a report an assault had taken place earlier in the afternoon at a school in Elms Vale Road, Dover.
"A broken glass bottle was recovered by officers at the scene.
"A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and released pending further enquiries."
Head teacher Juli Timoney said: “I can confirm an incident took place at the school on Tuesday, March 5 during which a member of staff was injured.
"The incident was dealt with in accordance with the school’s Positive Relationship and Behaviour Management Policy and staff have been assisting police with their enquiries.
"The safety and well-being of our staff and pupils is paramount at all times and we will take all measures necessary to ensure they can work and learn in a safe environment.”
