How fierce Saxon warriors fought will be relived in a special history weekend.
The Anglo-Saxon Weekend will have sword fighting demonstrations plus talks from archaeologists revealing evidence from skeletons to show how individuals from that time died.
A poem from the era will be brought dramatically to life on the big screen.
The event, on Friday and Saturday, is organised by the Finding Eanswythe heritage project working with Dover Museums.
At 7pm on Friday there is a Finding Eanswythe Film Night at the Silver Screen Cinema at Dover Discovery Centre off Market Square, Dover.
The evening includes an introduction to the Anglo-Saxon poem Beowulf by Dr Mike Bintley from Canterbury Christ Church University.
This will be followed by a screening of the 2005-made Beowulf and Grendel.
