Drivers experienced delays after a road near a busy port was blocked following a car fire.
The A2 Jubilee Way in Dover was closed in both directions from the A258 (Deal Roundabout) to the A20 (Eastern Docks roundabout).
Fire crews were called to the road just after 3pm – and it was still closed at 7.30pm.
The car caught fire having crashed into a trailer being towed.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue was called at 3.11pm to reports of a car on fire on Jubilee Way, Dover.
“Two fire engines attended, and crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
“No injuries have been reported and the cause is not yet known.”
Traffic was diverted via the A258 south to Castle Hill and then the A256 south to the A20.
A spokesman for police added: “Kent Police was called at 3.25pm to a report of a car on fire on the A2, Jubilee Way in Dover.
“Officers attended to assist along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported. The road remains closed for surface repair work to take place.”
