An electrical fault is the cause behind a car fire in Coldred on Christmas night.

Dover firefighters went to the scene, in Church Road, at about 7.30pm.

A Vauxhall Astra was alight, and the crew took around 20 minutes to put the blaze out.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "It was just an electrical fault with the car.

"There was nothing suspicious, just very unlucky."
