A car that failed to stop for police ended up coming off the carriageway, leaving three people in hospital.
Officers had requested the black Ford Fiesta stop on Whitfield Hill, Dover, yesterday at 3.10am.
But the vehicle reportedly didn't pull over and one minute later was involved in a crash.
One of the passengers was taken to a London hospital, with injuries not thought to be life threatening.
Two other occupants were taken to a hospital in Kent.
One man has since been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and taken into custody.
The road was closed for nine hours while police carried out investigations.
The full statement from Kent Police reads: "At around 3.10am, on Thursday, March 10, a black Ford Fiesta is reported to have failed to stop when it was requested to do so by a Kent Police patrol on Whitfield Hill.
"It then left the carriageway around one minute later.
"One of the passengers was taken to a London hospital, for treatment to injuries which are not described as life threatening.
"The other two occupants were taken to a local hospital.
"One man was arrested for dangerous driving and taken into custody.
"A full road closure was enforced, to ensure public safety and allow the Serious Collision Investigation Unit to complete its enquiries.
"The road re-opened at midday."
As is standard procedure, a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, Kent Police confirmed.
