A car has been destroyed by a fire in St Margaret's this morning, but it is not known how it started.

Fire crews were called at 4.49am to the blaze in Chapel Lane which had spread to a detached garage.

Two hose reels and fog spike for nearly half an hour to extinguish it.

A thermal imaging camera was also used to check for hot spots before the crews left the scene at 7.55am.

No one was injured but there was a small amount of smoke and water damage to the garage and its contents.
