Fire crews called to car blaze at Tesco supermarket in Whitfield

Fire crews were called to a supermarket after a 4x4 went up in flames.

The blaze happened in the car park at Tesco in Honeywood Parkway, Whitfield, just before 12.30pm.

One fire engine attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to put out the flames.

Footage from the scene shows firefighters dousing the smoking wreckage of the burnt-out car.

Nobody was injured.

Firefighters left the scene just before 1pm.
