A restaurant which began life as a home kitchen start-up is to open a new location at a town's prime entertainment and shopping destination.
Jerk n' Tingz will open its doors at St James retail park in Dover at 5pm this evening, offering diners an expanded menu of Caribbean food and drink.
The business was first launched by owner Matthew Bare in 2018 as a frozen food delivery service for Kent, but ambitions to open his own place led him to Dover, where he set up in London Road.
General manager Aimee Eyre, who along with the rest of the team has been working hard to get the new restaurant ready for this evening's launch, says regulars can expect some new dishes on the growing menu.
These will include vegan twists on classics like goat curry.
She said: "We've been pulling some late nights, but it's going to be worth it."
Jerk n' Tingz joins a growing list of food brands taking up spots at St James.
They will be competing with the likes of Taco Bell, German Doner Kebab and Rico Sabor - but bookings have already been coming in.
Reservations have also been taken for Christmas meals, with a Caribbean flavour.
"It will very much be with a twist, not a traditional Christmas meal," Aimee said.
"It'll be different from other places."
