Two of Dover's carnival queens have been chosen to represent England in an international competition.

The current Miss Dover Loren Selby and Miss Dover 2007 Cloe Atkins stormed to victory on Sunday in the selection for Team England 2009 who will compete for the title of Miss European at the final on October 31.

Former senior princess Saskia Wadsworth-Smith will also be taking part, competing as part of Team Ireland.

Meanwhile, the hunt is now on for Dover Carnival Association Limited's carnival court for 2009, and a celebrity judge will be among those choosing the lucky girls.

Catherine Thomas, who was runner up in Living TV's programme Britain's Next Top Model will join the judging panel at the selection on Sunday, April 26 at Dover Town Hall.
