A retired Dover woman has called for more CCTV to be in operation after the rear window of her car was smashed and her spoiler ripped off.
Jan Goldsack, of London Road, had to pay out for repairs to her Fiat Punto after the act of vandalism, which took place at around 7am on Sunday, June 22.
The car, which was empty, was parked outside of Ms Goldsack’s flat in London Road when it was targeted.
On Tuesday, police made contact with Ms Goldsack and told her that after their investigation they found footprints on the vehicle, which led them to believe that the perpetrator jumped on the car to prize the spoiler off.
The window of the car was smashed during the attack.
It is not known who committed the crime, and Ms Goldsack has been asked to contact officers again if she has any more trouble.
Ms Goldsack, who helps look after the Beacon Church and Christian centre said: “CCTV hasn’t shown up anything.
“They [the police] can’t do anything – they have done what they can.
“If I had been parked up one of the back roads I wouldn’t have been surprised.
“I am really worried about parking my car anywhere, there should be more cameras on the streets.
“It is a sign of the times, this doesn’t just happen in Dover, it happens everywhere.”
