The first diners for Marco Pierre White's Dover restaurant arrived today.

It was the opening for the celebrity chef's restaurant, Mr White's English Chophouse Dover.

It is based at the Best Western Plus Dover Marina Hotel & Spa at Waterloo Crescent.

The menu features a range of high quality meat cuts and traditional home-grown classics.

The restaurant will be the third of its kind to open in the UK this year, closely after London and Manchester which opened in April and May respectively.

The celebrity chef's Wheeler's Fish and Chips shop opens in place of the Waterfront Café in mid-October.

It will have both a take-away and sit-down service.

The menu will feature dishes like moules mariniere, salt cod croquettes and smoked sardines on toast.

The English Chophouse opening was just 11 days after Kent's first Marco Pierre White Steakhouse took in its first customers at the Best Western Clifton Hotel on the Leas in Folkestone.
