Kung Fu Panda is the lead character in a series computer-animated comedy martial arts films, which began in 2008.
The franchise has also spawned a TV series.
Last year the town's Christmas lights were turned on by the parents of Kelly Turner, Martin and Linda.
There had been great poignancy amid those celebrations as Kelly, 17, had died the month before from a rare cancer.
This was following a massive fundraising campaign by townspeople to pay for treatment to save her life.
