Firefighters cordoned off a section of Dover High Street after a large section of render crashed to the road below.
High winds as a result of Storm Barbara are thought to be to blame after a chunk of rendering broke off the front of a building at about 3.30pm.
The remaining render was left in a dangerous condition, with further falls likely.
Three fire crews used a ladder truck to get to the damaged section and remove unstable parts of the facade.
Firefighters eventually took down a 10m by 2m section of render.
They cordoned off the area for safety and traffic between Maison Dieu Place to Charlton Shopping Centre was restricted to one lane.
