A road was closed as firefighters tackled a blaze at a restaurant.
Crews were called to the Cider Works at Sandwich Road, Waldershare, just after 9.30am today.
Four fire engines and a height vehicle were sent there.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus took on the flames using main jets.
The blaze was contained by 11.30am and attendance was scaled down to two fire engines.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews remained at the scene turning over and damping down remaining hotspots and salvaging property from the premises.
"The cause of the fire is not yet known."
Police had been called to help the fire service with the road closure and the route was confirmed reopened by 12.30pm.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "No injuries have been reported."
The building had to be evacuated of a small amount of people, restaurant staff and occupants of flats upstairs.
Restaurant management said on their phone answering machine that there had been a "serious fire" on the upper floors.
They said the premises would be closed until next Saturday morning, April 14, while cleaning up was done.
