DFDS Seaways has had its offer accepted to buy two MyFerryLink vessels, it has been confirmed.
The deal was sealed today - which means the cross-Channel vessels, Rodin and Berlioz will come under new ownership.
From Thursday, July 2, DFDS has entered into a long-term bare boat charter agreement for the two ships.
A total of 600 overseas jobs also hang in the balance.
A put option agreement has also been entered which provides Eurotunnel with the right to require DFDS to buy them.
It will expire by mid-2017 at the latest and the terms will be agreed between both parties including a price reduction.
This is equal to any charter payments made before the put option is enforced.
The administrators of the SCOP SeaFrance have launched a sales process for all or parts of it.
DFDS said it will "constructively" participate in this process.
