Crashes 10 minutes apart on A2 near Whitfield and A256 Sandwich Bypass

Police need witnesses after a double road crash.

The incidents were 10 minutes apart and officers believe they are linked.

Police were called to the first collision, which was just after 11am on Tuesday, March 3, on the A2 at Dover, between the Whitfield and Duke of York's roundabouts.

Two vehicles, a Fiat Punto and an unidentified car, were in collision on the coastbound carriageway.

The unidentified car reportedly left the scene.

The second collision was reported around 10 minutes later between a Citroen Berlingo van and a blue-silver Peugeot 206.

This was on the A256 Sandwich bypass near Tilmanstone.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers are treating the two incidents as linked.

"A man in his 50s from the Dover area was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and has since been released under investigation.

" Enquiries into the two collisions continue and officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed either of the incidents or may have dashcam footage of the vehicles involved."
