Two primary school children from Dover played an important role in this year's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

Millions were watching the ceremony on television on Saturday night as Lacey Martin, nine, from White Cliffs Primary College for the Arts, and Reece Allen, 10, from Barton Junior School, presented poppies on behalf of the children of Britain to Air Marshall Ian McFadyen, President of the Royal British Legion.

The poppies then had a central place for the closing part of the service which was attended by the Queen and other members of the Royal Family.

Presenting the poppies to the Air Marshall, Reece said they were in thanks for all those who had given their lives.
