Dover man charged after shooting in Brighton

A Kent man has been charged with attempting to murder a man who was shot through his front door.

Spencer Bowen, 24, of Heathfield Avenue, Dover is accused of trying to kill the 39-year-old man in Brighton.

He is also charged with committing GBH with intent and conspiracy to murder a 24-year-old man in Elmore Road, Brighton.

Bowen is the third man to be charged in connection with the same crime.

A group of men went to a house in Elmore Road on January 27 and fired a single shot through the front door.

A 39-year-old man inside the house was hit but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Adam Willis, 33, of no fixed address and Hayden Pendleton of Damwood Road, Liverpool, have already been charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to murder.

They are due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on June 26.

Bowen was remanded in custody to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court today.

A reward of £5,000 has been offered by Sussex Police for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

The independent charity Crimestoppers has also offered £5,000 on the same terms.
