DFDS Seaways has confirmed the ship which hit the harbour wall in Dover last week is due to return to service late tomorrow (Friday) or early Saturday.
The cross-Channel ferry Dover Seaways is being repaired at the Damen shipyard in Rotterdam.
The incident happened on Sunday, November 8, at 8am when the vessel, which was destined for Dunkirk, hit the harbour wall, causing four people to be taken to hospital and more treated at the scene.
The Mercury reported that passengers were thrown across the deck just moments after the vessel left the berth. It was also reported that a pregnant woman and her children were thrown across the deck. Some passengers are thought to have suffered broken bones.
In a statement released on Monday, DFDS apologised to passengers, stating that their safety and that of the crew was of paramount importance to DFDS Seaways.
