Dover town centre will be turned into a winter wonderland today as the Christmas light switch-on marks the first day of festivities.
Families will be able to see real reindeers, who will be in Market Square with Father Christmas in his grotto from 12.30pm.
Biggin Street and Market Square will house stalls and entertainment and from 10am and the former Claire’s Accessories shop will hold workshops for children.
Performers will also take to the main stage in Market Square from 12.30pm right through to 5pm when the switch will be flicked, and the lights will illuminate the high street.
The town mayor of Dover, Cllr Chris Precious, along with cast members from Dover Operatic and Dramatic Society , the Blackfish Academy and Dover Youth Theatre will be preparing at 4.50pm.
The day’s events have been supported by Dover Town Council and Dover Town Team.
