A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving while over the legal alcohol limit after his car flipped in Dover in the early hours.

Police were called to a collision in Beaconsfield Avenue at 4.17am today, along with the ambulance service.

A car had collided with parked vehicles and then overturned.

A spokesman said: "The driver, a 40 year-old man from Dover, was treated for minor injuries and then arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit.

"He remains in police custody."
