The Dover Town Investment Zone lead petitioner, Alan Shirley and his wife Veronica are inviting people for a coffee tomorrow in the town centre.
Residents are invited to meet at the Mean Bean coffee shop in Biggin Street from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
The concept of the gathering is to unite the team of supporters and encourage more people to come on-board.
This event comes nine days before a scrutiny meeting is set to be held at Dover Discovery Centre, with its main ambition to answer questions about the St James' redevelopment.
People are concerned at the lack of progress over more than a decade of the site which is set to house a multiplex cinema and anchor chains such as M&S and Frankie and Benny’s by 2016.
The petition was backed by more than 2,000 people, one of which being MP, Charlie Elphicke.
Mrs Shirley said: “We are having the coffee morning with live music at the Mean Bean cafe in Dover and we are using it as a thank you for everyone who has supported us so far in the petition journey.
“It is also as a way to remind everyone out that day shopping that we need to fill the Discovery Centre and get our questions answered by our council.
“We have no idea of what the turn out will be on Saturday for our coffee morning but we hope lots will come along, enjoy a coffee and appreciate the great music we have planned.”
The meeting will start at 6pm.
