Fashion and home retailer Next is set to join the St James' development, it has been announced.
Next plc signed a pre-let agreement to open a 16,266 sq ft store with plans to trade over two floors.
This confirms previous reports in the Mercury that the store was coming to Dover.
Tim Ingleton, head of inward investment at Dover District Council, said: “I am delighted that NEXT are coming to Dover.
"They’ve clearly seen the enormous potential of the St James’s development to offer a 21st century shopping experience in the heart of Dover town centre."
The brand has more than 500 stores nationwide.
Clive Lynton of developers, Bond City, said: “We’ve worked hard to secure this prestigious tenant for the St James’s development.
"Next is one of the great success stories of the high street, and will bring something fresh and exciting to Dover’s retail offer."
The store will offer click-and-collect services for online orders placed before 10pm the previous day.
