FIRE crews have tackled a fire on the car deck of a passenger ferry at Dover's Eastern Docks.
The alarm was raised at 9.37am on Sunday when a boat trailer was reported to be on fire on the Norfolkline ferry Maersk Dunkerque.
Four ship breathing apparatus crews, along with BA crews from Dover fire station were sent on to the ferry to deal with the incident. The fire was put out by 10.17am.
A KFRS spokesman said passengers were evacuated "as a purely precautionary measure".
