As many as 2,000 people attended a fire station's open day.
It took place at Dover Fire Station in Ladywell.
Children were given the chance to wear firefighter helmets, site inside the cabs of fire engines and try out hoses under guidance.
The line rescue team also put on a rescue demonstration high up on the station tower.
Visitors were able to learn about keeping up fire safety in their homes.
A cake sale was also put on to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "We’d like to thank all of our volunteers, teams, the crew, and partner agencies for a fantastic day."
