An ASYLUM seeker is recovering after being rescued by firefighters from a moat on a hilltop at Dover's Western Heights.

A spokesman at Dover Fire Station said: "He was stuck on a wall in an akward place."

The man, who has not been named, is believed to have escaped from the Dover Immigration Removals Centre where asylum seekers are detained pending deportation.
