Firefighters extinguished a fire in the engine compartment of a Mini in River, last night.
One appliance from Dover attended the incident in Westdean Close, shortly after a call at 11.30pm.
A spokeswoman said: “It was believed to have been started by an overheating clutch.
“They used a high pressure hose reel to put the fire out by 11.51pm.”
The owner of the car was at the scene and no injuries were reported.
