Car parking charges in the Dover-Dal district are to be frozen for two years.
That’s the decision by councillors following a comprehensive review of parking in Dover, Deal and Sandwich.
Council leader Cllr Paul Watkins said that there might be “some adjustments in certain car parks” but charges overall would not be increased for at least two years.
Councillors have also decided they will not make any increases in their own allowances.
All members of the district council are entitled to claim allowances for the meetings they attend, and for some other duties, and these vary depending on whether councillors serve on the cabinet or have other responsibilities.
An independent review of allowances is taking place, and Cllr Watkins said that even if the review recommends an increase, it will not be taken.
