Girl hurt in house blaze

A TEENAGE girl suffered smoke inhalation when fire broke out at her Dover home early this morning.

The alarm was raised at 4am when a smoke alarm sounded in the building at Saxon Street.

Two fire crews attended and found that a candle, left on top of a hi-fi speaker, had burned down, melted and set light to the speaker on the third floor of the house.

The girl was given oxygen by the firefighters and then checked over by an ambulance crew. She did not need to go to hospital.
