One would be a new classroom, so it can raise its pupil numbers from 40 to 60, and the other for a canteen to replace an existing mobile catering unit.

When the application was first heard at a council meeting in August there were 161 comments from residents registered to the council supporting the scheme.

These people said that this project supported the local community and met an educational need.

But 34 member of the public were against it, saying the expansion would mean problems from extra traffic and an increase in noise and general disturbance.

The scheme had a recommendation to approve by planning officers and went before the committee in August.

Members then deferred voting on it to hold a site visit, scheduled for September.

Now, Dover District Council's planning committee voted the application through at their meeting earlier this month.
